Born to Late Sri Vemireddy Shivakota Reddy and Late Smt. Syamalamma, Sri Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy in 1956, he was schooled in the Rishi Valley School in Madanapalli. The shrine of learning founded by Sri Jiddu Krishnamurthy gave him the spiritual sustenance, stoic brilliance, and composure to a burgeoning mind. Growing young, he joined Loyola College, Chennai in 1973 and graduated in Economics in 1976.
Sri Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, a self-defined industrialist trod the way away from his means of inherited business, self-made his empire by the dint of hard work and endurance. Entering into his father’s mica business in 1979, he soon realized that it was not his way and turned to taking up civil contracts and allied works in 1981. Lakshmi Construction Company masterminded by him showed early signs of prosperity through the execution of civil contracts of irrigation, coal mining and earth moving. Having acquired expertise in the chosen field and by adopting excellent management practices, he ventured into setting up VPR Mining and Infrastructure Company (VPR) in 1989.
Adopting the best managing practices, VPR Mining has gone trans-national with image-building assignments taken up in Western Africa and Indonesia. The company operating under two major sectors of Mining and Irrigation generate 80% of revenue equally with compatible machinery suitable to both the sectors in a cost-effective manner. Some of the facts that help VPR are its ability to align with the change and convert the challenge into an enterprising opportunity, to create value for the company and its stake holders. With organizational capabilities that match the best in the world VPR is all set to make its presence felt in the global mining arena. A combination of synergies between skilled manpower, industry best equipment, talented project managers, expert management and most critically a plethora of experience that spans over 20 years in project management and execution helped VPR to age into the global player.
